ROCKLIN, Calif. – Jessup University Athletics is proud to announce that Men's Basketball guard Andre Norris has been named the PacWest Conference Defender of the Week for his exceptional two-game effort against No. 14 Point Loma and Biola last week.
Despite two overtime losses to conference opponents Point Loma Nazarene University and Biola University, Norris proved to be an unstoppable force on the defensive end, logging heavy minutes and stuffing the stat sheet in both contests. His tenacious play and ability to create turnovers were pivotal in keeping both games competitive into extra periods.
In the Warriors' first overtime battle against the Sea Lions, Norris played a marathon 42 minutes, showcasing his endurance and dedication to winning the possession battle. The senior guard delivered a massive double-double performance, anchoring the interior defense while pushing the pace on offense.
His defensive line for the evening was staggering: he pulled down a team-high 14 total rebounds (11 defensive) and recorded 4 steals. He complemented his defensive grit with 12 points and 5 assists, serving as the team's engine on both ends of the floor.
Norris carried his stellar play into the second overtime clash against the Biola Eagles, where his defense ratcheted up even further. Playing another 38 minutes, Norris shifted his focus to aggressively disrupting passing lanes and creating fast break opportunities, leading to a remarkable spike in takeaways.
Against Biola, Norris set the defensive tempo by racking up a phenomenal 6 steals, helping the Warriors force 21 turnovers overall. He coupled his lockdown defense with a strong offensive output, adding 12 points and securing 7 rebounds in the contest.
Andre Norris's consistent effort and dominance on the glass and in the backcourt earned him the coveted defensive honor, highlighting his role as the team's defensive anchor.
Over the two back-to-back overtime games against Point Loma and Biola, Norris compiled an incredible overall stat line that defines his Defender of the Week status:

- 21 Rebounds
- 24 Points
