COSTA MESA, Calif. - The Lady Warriors traveled to the GSAC Championship for the third straight year, this year hosted by Vanguard University. Jessup took on (2) Menlo College in the first round of competition and with a third inning surge the Warriors shutout the Oaks 7-0 in game one.

Leading things off for the Warriors was starter Tessa Harris with a pair of singles to kickoff the game and third inning rally in her second at bat with one out. Continuing the multiple-hit inning, the Warriors collected a pair of doubles and triples in the inning to take a 6-0 lead over Menlo going into the fourth inning.

Kyla Cisneros was the first one to bring in a set of runs with a triple to the wall to score Harris and Salinas. Cisneros was followed by starting pitcher Shelbi Graifman with a RBI double. With two outs Clarissa Blaquera scored Graifman reaching on an error, followed by a triple by Ali Medina and a double by Haley Stevenson to go up 6-0 over Melo.

The Warriors would add one more run in the top of the sixth with Corina Salinas reaching to score Stephanie Scott. Jessup would take the final lead 7-0 and hold the Oaks scoreless through the remainder of the game.

With the first victory, the Warriors will advance in the GSAC Championship Tournament Wednesday taking on the home team, and number one ranked Vanguard University at 1:45 pm. With a win, the Warriors will advance to the Championship game on Thursday, or with a loss, they will have to play another game in the double-elimination tournament.
