Jessica Burdick Earns PacWest Golfer of the Week Honors

Burdick placed third at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout; Burdick claims the first weekly PacWest award in women’s golf history

02/27/25

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Jessup Golf went 2-for-2 on PacWest weekly awards this week, as junior Jessica Burdick was announced as the PacWest Golfer of the Week this morning. The honor comes after a third-place finish earlier this week at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout.

Burdick joins Michael Sorber who started the morning with the news that he had been named PacWest Men's Golfer of the Week. Jessup Golf competed in two tournaments this week, with the men playing in Carmel and the women in Alameda.

The weekly award is not the first conference recognition Burdick has received in her career. Burdick was named the GSAC Freshman of the Year in 2023 and then won the GSAC Championship to cap off the 2024 season, placing her on the All-GSAC team.

Her third-place finish at the Pioneer Shootout also came with a selection to the All-Tournament Team, the second time she has gained that status in the 2024-25 season. Burdick was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the Sonoma State Fall Invitational in October after another third-place finish.

Burdick's two rounds at the Pioneer Shootout saw her post back-to-back scorecards of 71 (-1), with her two-under finish being her lowest tournament score of the season by nine strokes.

Across two days at Corica Park GC, Burdick posted eight birdies, four coming in round one and then four more to follow in round two. Her best hole was the 451-yard par-five sixth hole, which she birdied both days.

The field of 19 teams included five PacWest programs. Burdick had the best finish of all PacWest golfers in the field, finishing two shots ahead of Biola's Claire Shubin, who finished fourth. Biola, Academy of Art, Hawaii Pacific, Dominican, and Point Loma joined Jessup in the field.

Jessup will resume their season on March 17 when they compete in the Patriot Invitational, hosted by Dallas Baptist University at Quail Lodge Golf Resort in Carmel. The Warriors will also compete in the Sonoma State Spring Invitational to round out the spring before their first PacWest Championship.
