Lloyd Hedenland joined Jessup Track & Field as the Throws Coach beginning in 2016. Hedenland brings to Jessup an experienced and successful career in both high school and collegiate throwing.
“I truly believe the good lord has brought me to Jessup and he will see me through it,” said Hedenland. “This is his word. I am so incredibly blessed to be a throws coach at Jessup and I will not squander my opportunity I have received.”
Before arriving at Jessup, Hedenland was the throws coach for Placer High School, Aptos High School, and Casa Robles High School. Since 1994, Hedenland has also served as Co-Head Coach of Sierra Foothill Track Club, working with the throwers in all age groups from youth through masters.
With Jessup, Hedenland helped coach Jennah Richmond in the javelin and shot put on her way to an NAIA All-American fourth place finish in the Heptahlon. During Hedenland's tenure with the Warriors, Jessup throwers have won two individual GSAC championships in the hammer and javelin, and have set 12 new school records.
Hedenland currently resides in Lincoln with his wife Lisa. They have two adult children, Andrew and Chelsea, along with one granddaughter Gracelyn. He attends Bayside Church in Granite Bay. He enjoys spending time with family, fishing, camping, and being a grandparent.
