Marissa LaBelle

Jessup welcomed Marissa LaBelle to the coaching staff as the Assistant Coach for Jumps and Multi-Events prior to the 2023 season. LaBelle looks to continue the success the program has experienced in the decathlon, heptathlon, and other field events at the GSAC Championship.
 
LaBelle graduated from Cal Poly Humboldt, during her time with the Jacks she began her coaching career as the jumps coach for McKinleyville HS. Her coaching career then took her to the Sacramento area, where she became the jumps coach for Rio Americano HS.
 
An experienced coach at the high school and collegiate ranks, LaBelle is a level one certified USATF Coach.
 
LaBelle competed at the NCAA Division II level for five years at Cal Poly Humboldt. In 2017 she won the CCAA Conference Championship in the heptathlon and triple jump, two events she now coaches at Jessup. She also earned top-three finishes in the open 100m hurdles, high jump, and long jump. She finished All-CCAA in the shot put and 4x100m relay.
 
Her on the track successes continued at the national ranks, as LaBelle was named an NCAA Division II All-American in the heptathlon, and was the National Champion in the high jump. LaBelle also succeeded in the classroom, being named CCAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and she received the Hal Charmofsky Award for excellence in sport and in the classroom.
 
LaBelle holds the Humboldt record in the high jump, triple jump, and heptathlon. She sits top-ten in the long jump, 100m hurdles, and 4x100m relay. She was named CCAA Athlete of the Year, and was Humboldt’s nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year.
