Haines has been with the Warriors five seasons as a part-time assistant coach. In his time with the softball program, he has been to five-consecutive GSAC Championship Tournaments and was a part of the Warriors clinching the program’s most wins in a season for the 2018 campaign with 31.
Prior to his move to collegiate coaching, Haines first coached competitive softball in 2012 when he served as the assistant coach and then head coach for the local California Yardsharks.
Later he moved on to coach for the Lady Wolfpack, where he still serves as an assistant coach. A multi-talented athlete, Haines played football at the JUCO level before starting a career in competitive slow pitch softball after college.
He would go on to represent the Sacramento Fire Department in the Fire Olympics for softball and eventually became a founding member of an additional competitive team in the Natomas area.
Haines is a graduate of Los Medanos Jr. College in Pittsburg, Calif. where he received Associate Degrees in both Fire Science and Liberal Arts. He furthered his education as a first responder by earning his paramedic license from NCTI in Roseville.
Professionally, as a 10-year veteran firefighter and paramedic, Haines continues to serve his community as a first responder in the greater Sacramento area.
He currently resides in Natomas with his wife and two children. Haines said the two biggest factors in why he chose to work at Jessup was to help young people succeed in life and to be surrounded by other followers of Christ.
