Jake Thompson's role with Jessup Athletics grew into a full-time capacity in the summer of 2023. As the Facilities & Operations Coordinator, Thompson assists Senior Associate Farnum Smith in the maintenance and upkeep of Jessup's facilities, while also lending his hand as a member of Jessup's Game Operations team.
Thompson came to the Warriors in 2016 as a left-handed pitcher for the Jessup Baseball program. He played three seasons for the Warriors, ending his baseball career as a GSAC Champion in 2018. During his playing career, Thompson totaled 39.2 IP and racked up 21 strikeouts.
His time as a student-athlete was not done, however, as he then went on to add two more seasons on the Men's Golf team while working on his Master's Degree.Â
Thompson's primary role with Jessup Athletics is in the maintenance and upkeep of Jessup's facilities. Whether it be on campus or off, Jessup's facilities are always in top-shape thanks to the continuous effort put in by Thompson.Â
As a member of Jessup's Game Management team, Thompson helps oversee Jessup's front of house operations on game day, including concessions. He also lends his hand to the scorer's table, whether it be through stats, broadcasting, or public address announcing. He also leads the setup and tear down of all home events both on and off campus.Â
Thompson now resides in Citrus Heights with his dog, Sky. Sky is the official dog of the Warriors, and can regularly be seen at Jessup home events. In his spare time, Thompson can regularly be found playing in slow pitch softball tournaments across the state of California, or on the golf course.Â
