Roger Flanders

Roger Flanders joined Jessup University as the Director of Sports Communications to lead the storytelling and media strategy for the Warriors’ athletic programs. Bringing a wealth of experience across multiple levels of collegiate athletics, Flanders plays a pivotal role in amplifying the Jessup brand as the university transitions into the PacWest Conference and NCAA Division II.

Flanders comes to Jessup following a successful tenure at Cameron University (NCAA Division II) in Lawton, Oklahoma, where he served as the Assistant Athletic Director of Communications. In that role, he oversaw the department’s digital presence, managed game-day operations, and led a team of graduate assistants to ensure high-quality coverage for all Aggie athletic events.

Prior to his time in Oklahoma, Flanders served as the Sports Information Director at Western Texas College. He is credited with modernizing the department’s social media identity and enhancing the student-athlete experience through high-quality live streams, physical media production, and close collaboration with coaching staffs.

He began his career in Southern California, gaining foundational experience at Cypress College and Golden West College. During this time, he acted as a primary public relations liaison, covering multiple 3C2A State Championship runs and coordinating comprehensive media days.

Flanders is a double graduate of California State University, Long Beach, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism (2021) and a Master’s degree in Kinesiology and Sports Management (2022).

A native Californian, Flanders is passionate about returning to his home state to be closer to family while helping elevate Jessup Athletics to new heights.

"I am incredibly excited and grateful to be back in California," says Flanders. "I am blessed to have the opportunity to work toward elevating the Jessup University Athletic Department into its new NCAA Division II standing."

Originally from Orange County California, Flanders now resides near Jessup University’s campus in Roseville.
