Rachel Moorehead

Head coach Rachel Moorehead is in her fourth season at the helm of the Warriors women's soccer team being named full-time head coach in 2017 after serving an interim coach.

"We're very excited to get a coach like Rachel Moorehead to lead our women's soccer team," said Von Vogt. "(Rachel) was a terrific soccer player, and a prized graduate from Jessup. She understands the ins and outs of this program and knows how to lead a team from a Christ-centered mindset, which we believe to be vital."

A graduate of William Jessup University in 2011 with a degree in Liberal Studies, Moorehead was a member of the women's soccer team where she appeared in 67 games and scored 8 goals.

Following her graduation, Moorehead continued her educational growth by earning her master's degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University. "I could not be more excited," stated Moorehead. "This is a dream for any alum, to come back and promote your program, and keep moving it in the right direction.

We have a lot of talent this year's squad, so I couldn't be more excited for this group of ladies that I get to work with." "Any time you can bring back one of your own to continue growing a program—and when they have the skill sets like Rachel has—you have to take advantage of this opportunity," added Von Vogt.

Moorehead joined the William Jessup University coaching staff in 2014 as an assistant, and played a key role in the Warriors' transition from the California Pacific Conference, to the Golden State Athletic Conference which they now reside. "William Jessup is an incredible university that changes people for the better," said Moorehead of her alma mater.

"I am so excited that I get to be a vessel that brings outsiders in, and hopefully help them transform their lives on the field, off the field, in the classroom, and spiritually."

Moorehead hails from Windsor, Calif. but currently resides in Wheatland. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends, spending time at the lake and traveling.
