ROCKLIN, Calif. – Jessup's men's soccer team (5-10-1, 2-7) struggled to find any kind of rhythm as they unsuccessfully fought to keep up with the San Diego Christian Hawks (11-6, 6-3) eventually losing the match 0-4.
Sophomore goalkeeper Robert Harmelink held the goal for the whole 90 minutes for the first time this season and played a very well fought game. The Hawks barraged Harmelink with 21 shots, toting impressive accuracy with 17 shots falling inside of the goal frame. Harmelink would come out the other side with a huge 13 saves on the day.
Jessup also made a decent showing on the attack, making 7 attempts at the goal, including three from promising freshman forward Conner Entz. Four Jessup shots would fall on goal, but none managed to sneak past the grips of San Diego's keep.
The loss eliminated Jessup's chances to advance into post-season play. The Warriors will have one last hurrah on the road; however, when they take on 13th ranked Vanguard University with kick-off set for 2:00 p.m.
