Six Seniors Play their Final Collegiate Match in Battle with Biola

Warriors Fall to No. 5 Eagles 1-0, Ending First Season Under Head Coach Rachel Constantini

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Taking the field for the final time this season, and for six seniors the final time of their collegiate career, the William Jessup University women's soccer squad battled wire-to-wire with the No. 5 team in the nation, Biola University. A first half goal put the Eagles up for good, but the Warriors put on a fight for 90-minutes, ending their season with their heads held high.

"Biola is an exceptional team but we stayed with them every step of the way," head coach Rachel Constantini said. "I could not be more proud of each and every one of these amazing young women."

Seniors Stormii Droke (Sacramento, CA), Lauren Roseboro (Tracy, CA), Aubrey Brisbane (San Francisco, CA), Michelle Sandage (Carson City, NV), Celia Rangel (Bakersfield, CA), and Brianna Evans (Roseville, CA) were all in the starting lineup Saturday, playing their final collegiate match for the Warriors.

Droke was inserted into the starting lineup for the first time in her career at Jessup. The senior, who had failed to see the field due to injuries, received a nice send off as the Warriors and Eagles allowed the ball to go out of play in the first minute, securing Droke's name on the stat sheet before being subbed out for junior Hannah Lettington (Orangevale, CA).

In goal, Evans played all 90-minutes and held one of the top teams in the nation to just one goal on the day. The senior made two saves for the Warriors in her final collegiate outing.

Brisbane, starting her 55th game as a Warrior, ends her career with the most games started in program history. Her 4,878 minutes played and 69 games played in over her career are also the most in the program's history.

The lone goal of the match in Saturday's Senior Day was scored by Paula-Marie Labate in the 34th minute of play. Labate dribbled into the box and took a shot from the left side of the goal, ten yards out towards the far post to put her side on the board. The goal was her fourth of the season.

"Today was an excellent way to end our season," Constantini concluded. "The girls played with incredible heart and passion. We always expect a great game on Senior Day and this team did not disappoint."

Jessup closes out the year with a record of 5-12-1 and 1-8-1 in conference play.
