ATHERTON, Calif. - The women's volleyball team hit the road for their final contest of the season just up the coast to Menlo College. The Warriors battled with The Oaks through three close sets, but were unable take a game falling 0-3 (20-25, 16-25, 19-25).
It was a close run in the first set as the Warriors went back-and-forth exchanging the lead with Menlo though the Jessup's final timeout called when they were down 18-21. A hitting error by The Oaks and a late kill by
Jessica Williams kept the Warriors alive 20-23 but Menlo finished the first set strong to take the 1-0 lead (20-25).
The Warriors fell behind early in the second set and weren't able gain traction as Menlo maintained the lead and took the set and 2-0 lead going into the break.
With the game on the line, Jessup came out strong leading mid-way through the set over The Oaks, but catching a second wind Menlo went on a run forcing the Warriors to take their first timeout.
Jesup would get within four before calling their final timeout down 16-20.
Taylor Jacky,
Makenzie Reeder-Esparza and
Jennah Richmond would each finish the set with a kill a piece, but it wasn't enough as Menlo took the final set, 25-19.
Leading the Warriors offensively was freshman Jacky with 9 kills and teammates
Vendela Williams and Reeder-Esparza with 8 kills respectively.
Kacey Berger led the Lady Warriors with 18 defensive digs, followed by Jacky with 15.
