SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Lady Warriors closed their conference road contests at nationally ranked Westmont College, unable to overcome the offensive threat of the conference Warrior foe.
Out the gate, Westmont defended home court on senior night, the last regular season conference game played in Murchison Gymnasium and Play 4 Kay Night. Taking an early lead, the home Warriors held a 27-11 advantage after the first quarter.
Through the second and third quarter Westmont held the the Jessup Warriors to single digits, with a 61-25 jump going into the final 10 minutes of play.
Jessup was able to improve in the turnover column after posting a high 28 turnovers on Thursday against The Master's, managing just 11 turnovers against Westmont.
In the final quarter the battle of the Warriors was in Westmont's favor, but not without a last fight put up by the Jessup Warriors with 15-points to Westmont's 20.
Olivia Luu led the troops with 1o points, followed by
Leilua Iosia (9) and
Ashlyn Jones (7).
Janelle Luu pulled down a team-high 6 rebounds.
Jessup will return home for their final two regular-season conference matchups on Thursday against Arizona Christian and Saturday for senior day against Hope International at 1pm.
