SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Continuing conference play, the Warriors hit the road this weekend for Southern California to play a three-game series at The Master's University. Jessup's bats were unable to plate more than three runs in any game this weekend, as it was the Mustangs who took the series sweep.
Game on was played Friday afternoon, as Jessup plated their highest amount of runs in the series, but still they fell by the score of 7-3. Tristan Pryblinski got the starting nod for the Warriors, tossing 5.2 innings while allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, walking just one and striking out three. Pryblinski received the loss, while
Danny Vietti and
Mikey Saldana combined for 2.1 innings of relief work.
Jessup got out to a quick lead in the series opener, as they plated two runs in the third inning on RBI singles from
Joey Torres and
Joshua Duitsman. Duitsman drove in his second run of the day on a solo home run to right in the sixth. The Mustangs produced a four run sixth inning to steal the lead for good. Runs would also come in the seventh and eighth for Masters.
The Warriors fell 4-1 in game two, the first of a doubleheader on Saturday. The Mustangs plated two runs in the first, one coming off a solo homer. Jessup's lone run of the day came in the top of the eighth, when catcher
Dakota Spillers homered to left center.
Game two of Saturday's doubleheader, and the finale of the series too went to the Mustangs, this time by the score of 4-2. The Warriors struck first on an RBI double by
Ben Knudsen, followed by a Duitsman RBI single all in the first inning. Masters tied the game in the third, and then the game would be won on a walk-off two run homer in the seventh.
