SAN DIMAS, Calif,— The Warriors continued their winning ways as they defeated Life Pacific College 101-67, good enough for the teams' third consecutive win in conference play.
It was a quick start for the Warriors as they notched the game's opening 7 points. Ten minutes into the first half and the Warriors were still in front, but Life Pacific kept things interesting with the score at 25-19. In the remaining ten minutes of the half, the Warriors seized control of the game going up twenty points with the score reading 49-29 at intermission.
On a routine basis the Warriors received great looks at the hoop and during the opening half, the team was shooting 59 percent from the field. Throughout the game, the Warriors were aided by the efforts of
Keith Phillips,
Antonio Lewis, and
Tate DeLaVeaga as the trio combined for 33 of the teams 49 first-half points while shooting at a 73 percent clip.
In the second half, the Warriors kept their foot on the gas pedal going up by as much as 35 points after a
Jaylen Johnson layup put the score at 96-61. This was a game dominated from start to finish by the Warriors and they went on to win 101-67, putting their season record at 16-6 and 7-3 in the GSAC.
Phillips would go on to lead the Warriors in scoring with 22, his thirteenth time scoring twenty or more points. DeLaVeaga was red hot from the field as he ended with 20 points on 8-9 shooting going 4-4 from beyond the arc. Also finishing in double figures as Lewis with 17, Tyras Rattle Jr scored 12 and
Darrell Polee at 11 and
Austin Dill with 10.
After four consecutive road games, the Warriors will return home to host Westmont College on January 31 at 7:30 PM.
