FULLERTON, Calif. - The Warriors took the road to for their first away conference matchups of the season taking on a pair of nationally recognized programs, first stop, No. 7 Hope International University Friday afternoon. A single run would decide game one as the Royals took it, and another pitching dominance by the home team would take game two from the Warriors as they are now 7-10, 2-5.
It was a pitcher's duel the opening game of the series as
Taylor Garcia took the circle and held the Royal's to a no-hitter through the fifth inning. In her complete outing, the starter had three strikeouts but collected her second loss on the season, 3-2.
A pair of hits would be the only thing to break through for the Warriors coming from the same name in the lineup,
Mehana Johns who went 2-for-2.
A single run in the top of the sixth would favor the home team for the victory to start the series.
The stat line would look the same in game two for the Warriors as a pair of hits, again was the only thing to get through. This time it was sophomore
Abbie Lewis who went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and
Jordyn Turner the only other Warriors to get a hit.
The Warriors would drop the final game against the Royals, 8-0.
Another nationally ranked opponent is on deck as the Warriors head to No. 12 Vanguard University tomorrow for a 12 pm and 2 pm doubleheader to end the road trip.
