SANTEE, Calif. - The Warriors hit the road first their final conference series away from home stopping at San Diego Christian. Down, the Warriors had a comeback final three innings in game one to take it 11-2 over the Hawks but would drop six runs in the fourth inning without an answer splitting with the Hawks on the road.
Leading the Warriors from the circle for their game one win was
Taylor Garcia grabbing her 8th win on the season in the seven-inning outing, allowing just 2 runs on 7 hits.
It was a home run rally for the Warriors in game one as
Lauren Garoutte knocked the first one out of the park in the third inning to answer to the Hawks lead and take the 2-1 advantage.
Jordyn Turner followed suit as she sent one over the left field wall to take the lead back again, 3-2 in the fifth.
The final two innings would seal the deal for Jessup as
Jena Ovens brought in a pair of runs on a 2-RBI double followed by a 2-RBI single by Turner, her third RBI of the game. The seventh would pick of the final runs of the game with a pair of homers from
Taya Ruiz and
Kaylee Surrell to finish the Hawks 11-2.
In game two the Warriors would hold the Hawks scoreless through the first three innings behind starter,
Brooke Sarro. A six-run bottom of the frame in the fourth would prove to be too much to match as the Hawks added another two in the sixth for the walk-off hit ending the game early.
Garoutte would tally two of the Warriors total three hits on the game.
The Warriors will return to the diamond tomorrow to take on Saint Katherine in a doubleheader starting at 10 am.
