ROCKLIN, Calif. – Another season of Jessup Soccer came to a close Saturday. After taking their quickest lead of the season, Saturday's game flipped 180-degrees as the Warriors shift their focus to a new season in the fall of 2022.
 
Saturday's contest was preceded by fanfare, as Jessup's three graduating players were honored before kickoff. Taking the field for the last time as Warriors were Robert Sams, Josh Freeman, and Valentin Luna.
 
It took only three minutes before Jessup would take a 1-0 lead over their counterparts. A foul in the box awarded a penalty kick for the Warriors, and Luis Castillo took the honors and placed a near-perfect ship shot to the right post that stood no chance of being denied.
 
Westmont would get on the board with two goals in the first half, taking a 2-1 advantage into the break.
 
The visiting Warriors of Westmont then kicked their game into a new gear, scoring three goals in the opening 12 minutes of the second half to push their lead to 5-1. Two more goals in the closing 20 minutes had the scoreline at 7-1.
 
Jessup's men's soccer program flashed signs of success throughout the season, as their young roster looks to improve having a year of collegiate soccer under their belts. For the sophomore class on this team, the 2021 season was the first true look at the GSAC following an unusual season earlier this spring.
