Two 20 Point Games Lead the Warriors to a Win over Arizona Christian

Jankulovski scores a career-high 24 points; Stirton finishes with a 22 point, 11 rebound double-double

ROCKLIN, Calif. – After winning the first of two home contests against the GSAC's Arizona programs, the Warriors looked to make it a sweep this week as the Arizona Christian Firestorm came to town. The Warriors put together one of their best shooting performances of their season, pacing them to a 75-67 victory.

A duo of Jessup guards led the charge in this one. Coming off the bench, Cheyenne Jankulovski scored a career-high 24 points on 11-of-13 shooting. JoeLyn Stirton was a sharpshooter from deep, connecting on four 3-pointers, leading to a 22-point performance.

The duo showed up all over the box score, with Stirton adding 11 rebounds and Jankulovski pulling down 8. Jankulovski also dished out 5 assists in her best game of the season.

Jessup trailed early in this one after a high-scoring first quarter had ACU ahead 19-17. But the second quarter was all Jessup, as a 9-2 run opened the quarter, leading to Jessup taking an 11 point advantage into halftime.

The Warriors again came out in control to start the third, as they jumped to a 10-1 run to start the quarter. The Firestorm chipped back thanks to three from beyond the arc, but headed to the fourth, it was a 14 point Jessup advantage.

The 3-pointer continued to work for the Firestorm in the fourth as they connected on three more. ACU outscored the Warriors 21-15 in the final frame, but there was not enough time for a complete comeback, as the Warriors held on for the victory.

Jessup won the rebounding battle 46-38 in this one. Kayla Vieira finished with 10 boards in 22 minutes of action.

As a team, Jessup shot 46-percent from the floor combined with a 70-percent showing from the charity stripe.

Saturday's victory pushes the Warriors over .500 in GSAC play, as they now sit at 5-4. Overall on the season, the Warriors are 10-11.

The Warriors will continue the season on the road next week when they travel to Fullerton to take on (RV) Hope International. It will be the second meeting between these two sides, as HIU took the first meeting, 64-56.

Jessup will wrap up the short two-game trip by visiting San Diego Christian on Saturday.
