Warriors Finish One Point off History in 95-56 Victory over OUAZ

Vieira (21) and Guitton (13) finish with career-highs; Jessup has two regular-season games remaining, both at home

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Warriors came into Saturday looking to end their road schedule in style, and that is exactly what they did. Putting forth a scoring ambush that will sit near the top of the Jessup record books, the Warriors took down the OUAZ Spirit, 95-56.

Saturday's performance can only be topped once on the all-time list, as it is tied for the second-most points scored in a single game by the women's basketball program. The record is only one point off at 96.

Jessup's offense was led by a 21-point performance by Kayla Vieira. It was a career day for the freshman forward, as she finished with her highest collegiate point total. Vieira also complemented her day with 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.

Also with a career day was Amari Guiton, who scored 13 points on a perfect 6-of-6 from the field in just her fourth game of the season.

The Warriors put up over 20 points in each quarter Saturday, starting with a 23-14 lead through one quarter. Jessup held the Spirit to just seven in the second, sending them into the locker-room leading 43-21.

Out of the break, the Warriors put up their highest scoring total of the day, putting up 27 points in the third. Jessup then put up 25 in fourth, ending the highest-scoring game under head coach Corey Laster's young tenure with the program.

Jessup had five total players finish in double-figures on a day where the Warriors shot 59-percent from the floor.

Natalie Moulos (16), Jacklyn Kulow (13), and JoeLyn Stirton (12) were the other three to finish in double-digits.

Saturday's victory puts the Warriors back at .500 with an overall record of 14-14. In conference play, the Warriors sit at 9-7.

Just two games remain for the Warriors in the regular season, and they will both come on Horton Court. Jessup will host The Master's on Thursday, followed by Senior Day against Westmont on Saturday.
