ROSEVILLE, Calif. – The GSAC's two Arizona schools are in town this weekend to take on the Warriors at Lifetime Fitness. It was a busy day of tennis in Roseville as three matches took place on Jessup's home courts.
The Jessup men were in action twice on Friday, facing Arizona Christian and OUAZ. The day started with a 7-0 loss to the Firestorm and ended with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Spirit.
Sam Smith teamed up with
Kadyn Silva twice today in doubles action. The duo lost their match to ACU 6-3, following it up with a 6-2 loss against OUAZ.
Jordan Lenney teamed up with
Noah Moeckelmann against ACU, losing 6-2. Lenney then teamed up with
Aidan Sauer in the finale, falling 6-1.
Doubles play in the women's match saw
Aysha Hayes and
Nicollet Alexander fall 6-3.
Danielle Akabane teamed up with
McKenzie Hawkins in a 6-4 loss.
Juliette Caughey was in action in singles play for the Warriors. The two-sport athlete won the opening set of her match 6-2, but lost the second 4-6. The match went a tiebreaker, advantage Caughey, as she won the set 10-6 to take the match.
Jessup won another point in singles play as
Sydney Page won her match by default.
Smith took his match to a three-set tiebreaker against ACU, but he lost the tiebreaker 9-11 to lose the match. Silva lost both sets in his opening bout 6-4. Two singles matches went unfinished against OUAZ.
The Warriors and Spirit will wrap up play on Saturday as the Jessup women will take on OUAZ tomorrow at 2 p.m.
