Back-to-Back Wins Keep Jessup Alive in the Postseason Picture

Moulos led the Warriors with a team-high 18 points; Jessup will be on the road next week against Life Pacific and Vanguard

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Less than 48 hours from Natalie Moulos' game-winning shot against Hope International, the Warriors were back to work looking to string together back-to-back wins. Needing wins to stay alive in the GSAC Tournament hunt, Jessup took down San Diego Christian 70-59 to improve to 12-8.

Jessup improves to 7-4 within the GSAC with seven games to go in the regular season.

Leading the Warriors in scoring was Moulos, dropping 18 points on 3-of-9 from the floor in her 28 minutes off the bench. Moulos saw the bulk of her scoring come from the charity stripe as she connected on 10-of-11.

Also contributing to the winning performance were Andrea Jovicevic and Kayla Vieira, who scored 13 and ten, respectively.

Saturday was a close game throughout, with the Warriors leading by nine at the break. However, the Hawks battled back in the third, outscoring the Warriors by five to close within four.

What hurt Jessup in this one was their scoring at the rim. There was a four-minute stretch of basketball where neither team connected on a field goal in the fourth quarter. The Warrior shot just 19 percent from the floor in the fourth.

Three-point shooting was electric for Jessup, however, as they knocked down eight from beyond the arc.

San Diego Christian was led by Brianna Humphries, who scored a game-leading 19 points. Three other Hawks closed the day in double figures.

Saturday wraps up the penultimate homestand for Jessup this season, as they will now embark for two weeks on the road. The Warriors will be back home inside Warrior Arena on February 9 when they host Arizona Christian.

Next week, Jessup will be in Southern California for dates at Life Pacific (Thursday) and No. 13 Vanguard (Saturday). Jessup owns victories over both squads from earlier this season.
