FOLSOM, Calif. – The Warriors returned to the tennis courts on Saturday, taking on a pair of ranked opponents in the likes of Westcliff University. The day saw Westcliff earn a sweep, winning both matches 4-0.
Women's action saw three singles bouts called off before they could be completed as Westcliff had reached enough points for victory. At the time of completion,
Jessica Holbea was one set up in her match, and
Danielle Akabane was fighting in the third set of her match.
Doubles play saw a clean sweep for Westcliff.
Men's play saw a similar end as the women's match, as two singles matches did not finish.
Sam Smith was leading the third set when it was called off, and
Isaac Graves was set to enter the third set in his match.
Smith and
Austrebeto Carlon were ahead in their doubles match when Westcliff secured the one point.
The Warriors will be back in action on February 28 against California Lutheran on the men's side. The women's team will compete February 27 at Whittier.
