Cash Williams Selected to the All-GSAC Team

Williams led the conference during the regular season with 20.8 PPG; In 28 games, Williams has eclipsed double-digit scoring 25 times

ROCKLIN, Calif. – The Golden State Athletic Conference announced the 2022-23 All-Conference team on Tuesday. Earning a selection as an All-GSAC athlete for the second season in a row is Jessup's senior point guard, Cashemin Williams.

Williams, the 2021-22 GSAC Player of the Year, was also named an NAIA First-Team All-American a season ago. The NAIA will reveal that prestigious list at the conclusion of the national tournament.

Entering the 2023 GSAC Tournament, Williams leads the conference in scoring average, dropping 20.8 PPG.

Statistically, Williams' season has been on par with the record-breaking campaign he set a year ago. His scoring average is currently up by 2.7 PPG. He has increased his free throw percentage by nine percent and has already matched the number of steals (46) that he totaled in nine more games a year ago. Last season, Williams became the first player in program history to eclipse 600 points, 200 assists, and 100 rebounds in a single season.

His best performance this year came in Jessup's second contest of the season, a victory at Simpson, where Williams dropped 40 points to tie the program's single-game record. He had a chance to do it again on January 19 when he scored 39 in a win against Hope International.

Another highlight moment came during a January 5 loss to Westmont when Williams became just the third player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points. His backcourt partner Myles Corey would join the club later in the season.

Throughout these milestone moments, Williams has scored 1,260 points in his two seasons with the Warriors. Jessup will hope to make a deep run in the postseason this year, as not only do they want to be champions, but Williams needs 114 more points to tie Lucas Birchard for the most points in program history.

Williams has started all 28 games for the Warriors this season. In those appearances, he has eclipsed double-digit points in all but three of them.

Jessup qualified for the 2023 GSAC Tournament, but they did so as the sixth seed. Awaiting them are the Royals of Hope International, a team Jessup beat in this very tournament a season ago. In two meetings, the Warriors and Royals split this season, with each team gaining a victory on their respective home court.

The Royals feature two All-GSAC selections, Sebastian Castro and Jalani Horn. Williams hands over his GSAC Player of the Year title to Kaleb Lowry of The Master's.

For head coach Lance Von Vogt, entering his eighth GSAC Tournament, his resume now includes 34 All-Conference selections from his roster.

Thursday's game, taking place at Darling Pavilion on the campus of Hope International, is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
