SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – Women's tennis was on the road Friday, visiting a soon-to-be conference foe in the Penguins of Dominican University. The Warriors took a point against their DII foes but ultimately lost the match, 6-1.
Jessup got their lone point in singles action, as
Jessica Holbea was victorious over Zoe Coggins in straight sets. Holbea won the opening set 6-4 before claiming the second set, 7-5.
The Warriors also won a doubles match thanks to the combo of
Nia Macay and
Annika Rojas, but the Penguins claimed the point by winning two of three in doubles play.
Dominican will be a regular staple on the schedule for Jessup moving forward, as they are members of Jessup's soon-to-be home, the PacWest. Jessup's next official opponent, Fresno Pacific, is also a member of the PacWest.
Women's Tennis will be in Sacramento tomorrow as they face Sacramento State in a scrimmage.
