Semifinal Bound Warriors Avenge Earlier Loss to Davenport

Jessup scored two points on the final routine to secure victory; The Warriors will take on top-seeded Oklahoma Baptist tomorrow

04/25/25

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The sweet tune of victory is ringing through the streets of Music City tonight as the Warriors find themselves in the semifinals of the College STUNT National Championship. Avenging a loss from earlier this season, the Warriors squeaked out a one-point win against No. 2 Davenport on Friday.

Friday's win improves head coach Alexis Blunk and the Warriors to 11-1 all-time in nationals contests. Jessup has won ten in a row in the postseason, dating back to April 30, 2022.

The Warriors opened Friday's contest taking four points in the first quarter, but Davenport regrouped to outscore the Warriors 4-2 in the second, sending the game to halftime with Jessup leading 6-5. A near split in jumps and tumbling sent the contest to the fourth quarter, all tied at 8-8.

Jessup was able to regain their composure in the fourth, ultimately taking a 15-13 lead as the game reached the final routine.

Blunk used a timeout to regroup her team, knowing they needed to outscore Davenport by one to win the game. Jessup exited the timeout, calling routine one, and the judges deemed three points to Davenport and two to Jessup.

The 17-16 finish secured a Jessup win and a fourth straight trip to the semifinals.

Friday avenges a 19-8 loss to Davenport earlier this season in Oklahoma. That trip to the Panhandle State also saw the Warriors take on Oklahom Baptist, the same squad the Warriors will draw tomorrow at 1 p.m.

A win against OBU will send Jessup to Sunday's championship game. A loss puts Jessup in an elimination game on Saturday night to determine the second team in the final round. All games can be streamed online via FloCheer. A subscription is required to view the action.
