On to the Championship! Jessup Punches its Ticket with Saturday's Win

Jessup will play for their fourth consecutive national championship on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. (PST); The Warriors are 12-1 all-time at nationals

04/26/25

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – For the fourth year in a row, Jessup STUNT will compete for the national championship as they secured their spot in the finale with a win on Saturday. Taking on the top-ranked team in Oklahoma Baptist, Jessup shined in the brightest moment to secure an 18-13 victory.

Jessup will now wait to find out who they will face in Sunday's championship game as OBU, Davenport, and Vanguard remain in the hunt for the final spot.

"It's amazing," said head coach Alexis Blunk in her postgame interview. "These kids have worked their butts off. They've been working hard just to be able to hang with the top dogs in DII. OBU and Davenport are two distinguished programs, so to beat both of them is just a testament to how hard our girls have worked all season."

The quest for a fourpeat remains alive as Jessup looks to add their first Division II championship to a series of NAIA titles. Jessup defeated Vanguard in the 2022 and 2023 championship games and then defeated Hope International in 2024.

Jessup jumped out to a 3-1 lead through one-quarter of Saturday's semifinal and matched that scoring in the second to take a 6-2 lead into the intermission. Jumps and tumbling was OBU's best performance as they scored four points, but Jessup managed two ties to send the game into the fourth leading 8-6.

The first two routines of the fourth quarter saw the Warriors and Bison score equal points, but then the third routine gave Jessup one more than OBU, sending the game to the final routine with Jessup leading by three. Needing just one point to clinch the win, Jessup instead scored three points to OBU's one to punch their ticket to Sunday.

OBU will take on the winner of the Davenport-Vanguard game later today.

Saturday's victory is the 11th in a row for Jessup in STUNT Nationals competition. They are 12-1 in the postseason all-time.

The championship game will be streamed live on FloCheer. Game time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. from the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville.
