GREENVILLE, S.C. – On the heels of the first national championship in program history, head coach
Trevor Paine has been selected as the NCCAA Coach of the Year. Paine's Warriors went 5-1 at the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy, fighting off elimination three times in the process.
Jessup opened the NCCAA World Series with wins against Campbellsville and Oakland City before suffering their lone loss to Mission. The Warriors responded to the loss with three consecutive wins, including retribution against Mission in the championship game.
The Warriors went 36-20 in the 2025 season, Jessup's first as competing members of NCAA Division II. Jessup finished its first PacWest season 28-16 which posted them third in the conference standings.
Jessup's third-place finish was good enough to qualify for the PacWest Tournament; however, the Warriors were ineligible for NCAA postseason competition due to the university's provisional membership status.
Paine's Warriors dominated at home for the second season in a row, posting an 18-4 mark at McBean Park. In the last two seasons combined, the Warriors have a record of 46-6 in home contests.
The 2025 season was a special one for Paine. On top of winning a national title, Paine also eclipsed 200 victories as the head coach of the Warriors. Win number 200 came on May 21 when the Warriors saved their season with a 6-5 victory against Concordia Ann Arbor. Paine grabbed wins 201 and 202 over the next 24 hours as his squad fought off elimination two more times.
Paine took over the reins as head coach of the Warriors ahead of the 2019 season following Jake McKinley's departure for the Milwaukee Brewers organization. Paine's first season with the Warriors was in 2018 when he served as an assistant coach. Jessup won the program's first GSAC Championship in 2018 and also hosted the NAIA Opening Round at McBean Park.
The 2019 season, Paine's first as head coach, ended with another conference championship, another trip to the NAIA Opening Round, and Paine was selected as the GSAC Coach of the Year.
In seven seasons as head coach of the Warriors, Paine holds a record of 202-126-1.
