ROCKLIN, Calif. – Graduate student
Madisyn Leffle has claimed one of the most prestigious honors in college athletics as the outfielder was named to the CSC Academic All-American team. With her second-team honors, Leffle becomes the seventh Academic All-American selection in university history and first in the university's Division II era.
Leffle joins a list of five other Warriors to earn the prestigious award. Those honorees include Bailey Cossentine (Track & Field; 2020, 2021), Kevin Jordan Jr. (Baseball; 2021), Vendela Williams (Track & Field; 2020), Anders Green (Baseball; 2020), and Omar Magana (Men's Soccer; 2018).
Recipients of Academic All-American status were first nominated for Academic All-District honors by their school's respective CSC (College Sports Communicators) member. CSC is an organization made up of athletic communicators at institutions across the United States and Canada. Select All-District honorees advance to the ballot for Academic All-American.
Nominees for Academic All-District and All-American must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, be a sophomore or above academically, and meet specific performance minimums per sport, such as matches played and in-match statistics.
Academic All-Americans are announced for NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA institutions. There were 33 NCAA Division II Academic All-Americans selected, split into three teams. Leffle is among 11 Division II athletes across the United States to be selected as a Second-Team Academic All-American.
Leffle produced a 4.0 GPA as a graduate student studying Counseling Psychology. She was honored as an NCCAA Scholar-Athlete in 2025 and was named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 2024, her first season with the Warriors.
The centerfielder hit .429 in her final collegiate season. She scored 53 runs, walked 14 times, and stole 24 bases. Leffle exits Jessup second on the all-time stolen base list with 78. She stole a program record 54 bases in the 2024 season.
Leffle was a First-Team PacWest All-Conference selection in 2025. She later added NFCS Second-Team All-Region and NCCAA Second-Team All-American honors.
Jessup won 81 games in Leffle's two seasons in Rocklin. The Warriors reached the NAIA National Championship Game in 2024, and in their first season of NCAA Division II competition, the Warriors were crowned national champions of the NCCAA.
