Heppner Signs Three for Upcoming Men's Golf 2025-2026 Season

Head coach Seth Heppner welcomes three newcomers to the 2025-2026 roster for men's golf

09/14/25

ROCKLIN, Calif. - Following the inaugural season in the PacWest and the first year under head coach Seth Heppner, the Warriors are ready for the 2025-2026 campaign. Coach Heppner has officially added three talented golfers to the roster, each bringing an impressive list of achievements.

The first signee, Jacobus Brakkee of Tracy, California, joins Jessup as an incoming freshman. A four-time All-League selection in high school, Brakee has consistently proven himself on the Junior Tour of Northern California with multiple Top-5 finishes. His standout accomplishment came in 2024, when he qualified to represent Northern California on the prestigious Junior Americas Cup Team.

The second addition is Nick Chavarin, who transfers to Jessup after two years at Cuyamaca College in Rancho San Diego. Chavarin was a steady force for the Coyotes, earning All-Conference honors in 2024. He capped off his junior college career with a runner-up finish at the Conference Tournament and a Top-15 showing at the California Community College Athletic Association State Championship.

Rounding out the class is Sam Cooper of Louisville, Colorado. Originally from Liverpool, England, Cooper spent two years competing at IMG Academy in Florida, gaining experience at top events across the United States. Among his notable accomplishments, he was named a finalist at the 2024 European Junior Open.

Reflecting on the new signees, Coach Heppner shared, "They all are super excited to be here. They each live life the right way, work extremely hard, and want to play golf at the next level. They're the type of players we need here—guys who will continue to build on what we started this year."

The first- and third-year student college transfers join a Warriors squad that made a strong statement in their first NCAA season. Jessup finished third in the PacWest Conference Tournament and climbed more than 30 spots in the national rankings during the spring. With four returning starters and the addition of this talented group, the future looks incredibly bright for year two in the PacWest.
