Offense Lifts Warriors to Victorious Thursday Night Sweep

Harris, Sheridan, and Hamilton all post double-digit kills on the night; Jessup sweeps Penguins of Dominican University

ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Warriors came ready for a Thursday night matchup against the Penguins of Dominican University in front of a packed home crowd on Horton Court. Jessup reigned victorious in a sweeping fashion with a 3-0 win over the visiting Penguins.

The Warriors had a quick turnaround from a Wednesday night matchup at Menlo College in Atherton, California, where they lost 3-0 to the Oaks. Turning the page to today, Jessup came out looking to mark themselves a tally in the win column, and that's just what they did.

This win for Jessup now puts them at 4-6 on the season.

Jessup dominated in set one against Dominican, with Jessup taking the win 25-14. That momentum would continue into set number two as they would again defeat the Penguins in back-to-back final scores of 25-14.

Dominican put the pressure on the Warriors in set number three, but Jessup was able to reign victorious in the third and final set, winning 25-22.

The Warriors' offense lifted them in a turnaround win. Jessup tallied a total of 43 kills on the night compared to the Penguins' 16 total kills.

Kemyah Harris would again find herself on the kill leaderboard with 12 kills on the night. Alongside Harris were Addisen Hamilton (11 kills) and Eliana Sheridan (10 kills), who found themselves in the top three for most kills on the night for the Warriors. Harris would also tally four aces and ten digs.

Kenzie Carpenter also had a respectable night with 33 assists, seven digs, two aces, and three kills. Defensively, Julia Olson, Eliana Sheridan, and Lainee McCune were a collective force at the net towards the Penguins, seeing nine total blocks, three each.

Jessup will hit the road for a weekend matinee matchup with Fresno Pacific University at the Special Events Center on September 27th at 2:00 PM.
