ROCKLIN, CA - The Jessup University women's soccer program is thrilled to announce the addition of a dynamic group of new players for the upcoming season. This incoming class features a mix of decorated junior college transfers and talented freshmen, each bringing a unique set of skills and a history of success to the field. Their collective experience, which includes state championships, all-conference honors, and team MVP awards, is expected to make an immediate impact as the team prepares for its next chapter.

Amsalu Fantahun. "We've added talented freshmen and transfers who can elevate our level of competition as we continue the quest for postseason play."
Mellanie Chernay
Chernay joins Jessup as a transfer from Cosumnes River College, where she played in 19 matches with 18 starts during her sophomore season and recorded 5 shutouts. She was part of a CCCAA State Champion team during her time at Folsom Lake College. Prior to college, Chernay was a League Defensive Player of the Year and a two-time Team MVP at Amador High School.
Gracyn Wilkinson
Wilkinson joins the Warriors after a standout four-year varsity career at Valley Christian High School, where she was a Team MVP and a three-time First Team All-League selection. She was a key member of a team that won four consecutive League Championships and qualified for the Section tournament all four years.
Mia Simmons
Simmons is a four-year varsity player from Davis Senior High School, where she was an All-League selection and a part of teams that were League Champions and DI Section Runner-ups. She was a key contributor to teams that consistently qualified for the DI Section tournament four times and the DI Regional tournament.
Haylie Rok
Rok joins the Warriors after a successful two seasons at Lake Tahoe Community College, where she was a First Team All-GVC selection and helped her team win back-to-back GVC Championships. Rok contributed offensively with 6 goals and 15 assists over her two years. Prior to college, she was a Second Team All-Region selection at Edward C. Reed High School and was a part of a team that won the 5A Regional Championship.
Alexcia Verduzco
Verduzco joins the Warriors after a two-year collegiate career. As a sophomore at Foothill College, she played in 18 matches, starting 17, and recorded 4 goals and 6 assists. Her freshman year was spent at Modesto Junior College, where she was a CCCAA Tournament Qualifier. Prior to college, she was a four-year varsity player at Oakdale High School.
Giselle Torres
Torres is a defender who joins the Warriors after a two-year stint at San Joaquin Delta College. As a freshman, her team were Big 8 Champions and CCCAA NorCal Regional Qualifiers. Her sophomore season saw her team as Big 8 Runner-ups and CCCAA NorCal Regional Qualifiers again. In high school, she was a four-year varsity player at Vanden High School and a two-time DIII Section Qualifier.
Evelyn Albor
Albor, a forward and defender, joins the Warriors after a two-year stint at Sierra College. During her time there, her team was a two-time CCCAA NorCal Regional Quarterfinalist and a Big 8 Champion. In high school, at Benjamin Holt Academy, she was a four-year varsity player and earned League MVP honors as well as a two-time First Team All-League selection. She also helped her high school team win DV and DVI Section Championships and three League Championships.
Yoselin Lopez-Lugo
Lopez-Lugo, a midfielder, joins the Warriors after a two-year stint at Lake Tahoe Community College. As a sophomore, she was named a First Team All-NorCal and First Team All-GVC selection, helping her team to become GVC Champions and CCCAA NorCal Regional Semifinalists. During her freshman season, her team again won the GVC Championship and were CCCAA NorCal Regional Qualifiers. In high school, at Procter Hug High School, she was a four-year varsity player, a two-time Regional MVP, and a two-time First Team All-Region selection. She also helped her high school team win 3A State and Regional Championships.
Karlee Lywandowsky
Lywandowsky, a midfielder, joins the Warriors after a two-year collegiate career. At San Joaquin Delta College, she was a two-time CCCAA NorCal Regional Qualifier. Her freshman season ended as Big 8 Champions, and as a sophomore, her team were Big 8 Runner-ups. Individually, she was selected for the All-Big 8 team and the All-Big 8 Tournament Team. In high school, at Heritage High School, she was a three-year varsity player, a two-time First Team All-League selection, and a two-time DI Section Quarterfinalist. She was also named the Offensive MVP.
Paulina Iñiguez
Iñiguez, a midfielder, joins the Warriors after a two-year career at San Joaquin Delta College. During her time there, she was part of teams that were CCCAA NorCal Regional Qualifiers in both seasons, including a Big 8 Championship in her freshman year. Prior to college, she was a four-year varsity player at Edison High School where she was named League MVP and a three-time League Midfielder of the Year. She was also a four-time Team Captain.
Carly Silva
Silva joins Jessup after a two-year collegiate career at Modesto Junior College. As a sophomore, she played in 13 matches, recording 2 goals and 1 assist, and was a part of the CCCAA NorCal Regional Qualifiers team. As a freshman, she also played in 13 matches. In high school, at Oakdale High School, she was a League Champion and a DIII Section Semifinalist.
Roxanna Medina
Medina joins Jessup after a four-year varsity career at River City High School. As a senior, she played in 15 matches, recording one goal. She was a 4x DI Section Qualifier, a DI Section Quarterfinalist, and a League Champion. She was also named to the All-League team. Additionally, she played varsity flag football.
Mandy Thao
Thao joins Jessup after two seasons at Cosumnes River College. During her sophomore season, she played and started in all 21 matches, recording 4 goals and 6 assists for 14 points. She was also a part of the CCCAA NorCal Regional Qualifiers team. As a freshman, she played in 23 matches with 14 starts, recording 1 assist, and was on a Big 8 Champion team. She played her high school soccer at Cosumnes Oaks High School, where she was a 4-year varsity player.
Alanna Harrison
During her sophomore year, Harrison played in 11 matches, starting in 3. She recorded 3 goals and 2 assists for a total of 8 points. Her team was a CCCAA NorCal Regional Qualifier and CVC Runner-up. As a freshman, she played in 14 matches with one start, scoring 5 goals for a total of 10 points. That season, her team were CCCAA State Semifinalists, CCCAA NorCal Regional Champions, and CVC Champions.
Mia Hoffman
Hoffman joins Jessup University after her high school career at Vista del Lago High School in Folsom, CA. In the 2024-25 season, she recorded 1 goal and 1 assist for a total of 3 points. She was also named "Player of the Match" in a game against Inderkum High School. Mia plans to major in Criminal Justice with the goal of becoming a detective. She enjoys listening to music, spending time with her family, and going to the gym. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13.
Anna Lazaga
Lazaga was a one-year varsity player in high school. In her senior season, she played in 13 matches and recorded 4 goals and 1 assist for 9 points. She was a 3x team captain and was part of the Sacramento United Girls Academy, where her team was ECNL League Runner-ups. She was also part of the PDP State Pool. Anna plans to major in Exercise Science with the goal of becoming a physical therapist.
