Warriors Post Strong Marks at West Coast Relays

03/28/26

CLOVIS, Calif. – Jessup University track and field team competed against a crowded and competitive field at the West Coast Relays on Saturday and continued to post solid marks.

Leading the way in the field events once again was Rogelio San Miguel, who secured a pair of impressive top-ten finishes in the jumps. San Miguel cleared 1.90m in the men's high jump to earn a hard-fought sixth-place finish, and followed that up with a strong mark of 13.40m to take seventh in the triple jump. Ethan Poirier also represented the Warriors in the pit, placing 25th in the long jump with a leap of 6.03m.

In the throwing ring, Shiloh Vallejos continued to be a consistent force for the women's squad, earning an eighth-place podium finish in the shot put with a heavy toss of 11.64m. For the men, Lucas Patterson stepped up in the discus throw, launching a mark of 37.43m to claim 19th place.

On the track, Erica Waseq delivered a standout performance in the 100m hurdles. Waseq clocked a swift 14.80 to capture a top-ten finish, crossing the line in ninth place overall. Teammates Karsyn Leikauf (17.78) and Jocelyn Pedretti (17.97) navigated the hurdles closely behind in 25th and 26th, respectively.

Waseq also contributed to a strong, collaborative showing in the women's 4x100m relay. The relay squad—featuring the combined efforts of Waseq, Kimora Hill-Brown, Aurora Osburn, Kayla Carpenter, and Hope Garten, passed the baton smoothly to secure a solid seventh-place finish.

In the individual short sprints, the women's 100m dash saw Hill-Brown lead the Jessup pack with a time of 13.47 (40th). Leikauf (14.02) and Garten (14.47) rounded out the Warriors' efforts in a massive sprint field. On the men's side, Antonio Leal paced Jessup in the 400m dash, crossing in 50.67 for a 19th-place finish, while Oscar Duncan clocked in at 55.69 (42nd).

The Warriors will look to build on these performances as they head to the Bay Area next week. The team will travel to San Francisco State University on Friday, April 3 for the Mike Fanelli Invitational.
