Warriors Dominate Nighthawks in Spectacular Home Showing

03/05/26

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Jessup University Warriors STUNT put on a spectacular show in front of their home crowd Thursday night, rolling to a decisive victory over the Northwest Nazarene University Nighthawks inside Warrior Arena, 25-1.

The Warriors wasted no time establishing dominance right out of the gate in Quarter 1, which focuses on Partner Stunts. Executing their skills with flawless technique, Jessup pitched a perfect frame, sweeping the opening period to take an 8-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

As the game progressed through Quarter 2 (Pyramids & Tosses) and Quarter 3 (Jumps & Tumbling), the Warriors never let their foot off the gas. By the time both teams took the floor for Quarter 4 (Team Routine), Jessup had built an insurmountable lead, decisively putting away the Nighthawks.

Several Warriors stepped up to make massive impacts on the mat. Flyers Sophia Uriarte and Aiko Bates were instrumental in hitting their marks and securing points early on in the partner stunt rounds. Backspot Lucy Child provided a rock-solid foundation for the team's elite stunt groups, while Samantha Nilsen and Marlena Montoya showcased incredible versatility, executing high-flying skills and clean tumbling passes throughout the evening.

Following the victory, Head Coach Alexis Blunk praised the squad for their execution and energy, "First home game of the season and the team showed up ready to work. Proud of the way the Warriors competed tonight and set the tone for the year with a big win."

She continued, "The highlight was Level 8 earning all three points, and it was great to see some new groups step onto the mat for the first time and perform with confidence. A strong start at home and a lot to build on from here."

With the win, the Warriors improve to a stellar 7-1 on the season, while the Nighthawks fall to 1-5.

The Warriors continue their tournament tomorrow as they will host the Concordia Irvine Golden Eagles at 1:00 PM and Vanguard Lions at 6:00 PM.
