ROCKLIN, Calif. — Jessup University Women's Volleyball is excited to announce the hiring of Haley Burdo as an Assistant Coach. Burdo brings a decorated collegiate playing career, extensive club coaching experience, and exceptional academic achievement to the Warriors' program.
"Having Haley join this program is a huge addition not only because of her impressive career as a collegiate setter, but because of her ability to coach at an elite level and her heart to serve her athletes," said Taylor Jacky, Jessup Head Volleyball Coach.
Burdo arrives at Jessup following a stellar four-year career as a starting setter and three-year captain at California State University, Stanislaus. She established herself as one of the program's all-time greats, setting the Stan State career record for assists (2,228) while ranking second in career aces (149) and eighth in career digs (900). In her final season, she helped guide the Warriors to the 2024 CCAA Tournament Championship—the first in school history—earning All-CCAA Honorable Mention, CCAA All-Tournament Team honors, and the CCAA Elite 13 Award.
Off the court, Burdo excelled at the highest level, graduating with a 4.0 GPA in Psychology (Experimental Concentration) and a minor in Child Development. Her academic accomplishments earned her the prestigious Metzger-Geiger Award, CSC Academic All-District honors, and multiple CCAA All-Academic selections.
Beyond her playing career, Burdo brings seven years of club coaching experience, primarily with Rage Volleyball Club, where she has developed athletes across multiple age divisions, with a focus on technical training and setter development. Her coaching achievements include leading the 13-1s team to a USA bid for Nationals with a first-place finish at the 2026 Salt Lake City Showdown, as well as a Bronze medal finish in the Patriot Division at Nationals with the 14-1s in 2025. Additionally, she served as a volunteer assistant at Stan State and an assistant coach at Pitman High School, helping lead the Pride to a league championship.
"I am thrilled to join the Jessup Volleyball family," said Burdo. "I look forward to leveraging my passion for the game, court experience, and coaching background to help build up these student-athletes both on and off the court."
Burdo will begin her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology at Jessup University this fall alongside her coaching duties.
