Box Score ROCKLIN, Calif. — The Jessup University women's soccer team put forth a spirited second-half push on Saturday morning at Warrior Field, but a pair of early tallies by Seattle Pacific proved to be the difference as the Warriors fell 2-1. Seattle Pacific dictated the tempo throughout the opening 45 minutes, capitalizing in the 11th minute and extending their advantage in the 27th minute, 2-0. Jessup managed two shot attempts in the opening frame—including a targeted strike from Kaylee Fore that was turned away by goalkeeper Landry Schoennauer—but went into the halftime break facing a 2-0 deficit while being outshot 6-2.

Jessup made key tactical adjustments at the break, bringing in goalkeeper Avery Suhr alongside multiple lineup changes to revitalize the backline. The adjustments paid immediate dividends, as Suhr delivered a flawless 45 minutes with four saves to keep the Falcons off the board in the second half.

The defensive stance sparked the offense in the 64th minute when forward Mikayla Olariu seized an opportunity and buried an unassisted goal to bring the Warriors within one. Jessup continued to fight for an equalizer late, including a final shot attempt from Fore in the 89th minute, but SPU held on to secure the victory. Seattle Pacific finished with a 12-5 overall edge in shots and a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks, while committing five fouls to Jessup's nine.

"We weren't pleased with how we started in the first half—we gave them too much space to operate and paid for it on the scoreboard," said head coach Amsalu "Am" Fantahun following the match. "But I'm really proud of the response from our group in the second half. We adjusted our pressure, fought for every 50-50 ball, and Mikayla gave us a great spark with that goal. Avery came in and gave us solid minutes in goal to keep us right in it until the very end. We have to take that second-half urgency and bring it right from the opening kickoff moving forward."

The Warriors (0-1-1) will remain at home for their next fixture on Labor Day Monday, September 7, when they host Menlo College at 2:00 PM at Warrior Field.
