Brendan Erickson joined the Warriors as a volunteer assistant ahead of the 2023-24 season. Erickson brings to the Warriors a coaching resume nearly 20 years long, as he adds to head coach Mark Darnall’s coaching staff.
Â
Erickson’s first season with the Warriors coincided with the first campaign for head coach Mark Darnall. The Warriors reached the NAIA National Tournament in the 2023-24 season, bringing to an end Jessup’s time in the NAIA.
Â
Before coming to the Warriors, Erickson built his basketball resume at the high school level. Erickson got his start in 20025 as an assistant coach at Newark Memorial HS, where the team won nine league championships during his time. They added three section titles, one Northern California championship, and saw over 20 players advance to playing basketball collegiately.
Â
After departing Newark in 2019, Erickson was named the head coach of Casa Roble HS. Erickson guided his squad to a 2021 league championship and was named GEL Coach of the Year. He then assumed the same role at Del Campo HS, where the team made two appearances in the SJS section playoffs.
Â
Away from Jessup, Erickson is the founder of RoseCity Ballers grassroots basketball, where he currently coaches their 17u team. Erickson has seen over 40 of his players advance to college basketball, with over 25 competing at a four-year institution and one being drafted by the NBA.
Â
Erickson played college basketball at Ohlone College, where he was a conference championship. He is engaged to his fiancée Ashley and has three kids: Elle, Olivia, and Savanna. He enjoys traveling, coaching his kids’ sports teams, and spending time with family and friends.
