Bryce Jacobson was added to the Jessup Men’s Basketball staff in a part-time role prior to the 2019-20 season. Jacobson was later promoted to a full-time role at the conclusion of his first season.
Jacobson and head coach Lance Von Vogt have ties together before their time at Jessup, as Jacobson played for Von Vogt at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, WA. Jacobson served as a team captain for the Pirates, and played a key role in the team winning the NWAC Championship in Von Vogt’s first season.
“Bryce was a critical player on our team at Peninsula,” added Von Vogt. “We had a really great team. Bryce was a consummate teammate. He embodies the type of player we want to have here at Jessup.”
A native of Alaska, Jacobson got his start in coaching at the junior high school ranks, leading the team in his hometown. Jacobson’s career has landed him stops at each level from junior high school to a four-year university.
Jacobson continued his basketball career in Alaska as a student coach for the University of Alaska Anchorage where he earned his B. A. in Kinesiology.
Basketball runs in Bryce’s bloodline, as both his parents played college basketball as well.
The Warriors have been very successful in each season since Jacobson joined the staff. In the 2021-22 season, Jessup reached the GSAC Championship Game and secured a bid to the NAIA National Tournament where they made the deepest run-in program history, reaching the quarterfinals.
Jacobson currently resides in Roseville and is actively working on his Master’s Degree.
