Brandon Bowling

Brandon Bowling officially joined Jessup Athletics in 2016 and currently serves as the Associate Athletic Director – External Affairs. His current title comes after a 2019 promotion from his Assistant Athletic Director role.

“Brandon Bowling is a purpose-driven administrator with a coaching background,” said Athletic Director Lance Von Vogt. “He is a relationship guy who just gets it. He loves the Lord, and he is here for all the right reasons.”

Bowling currently oversees all external communication and partnerships for Jessup Athletics, including local businesses, sponsors, and donor relation activity, to the amount of nearly a half-million dollars. Currently, the Warriors feature over 30 community business partners.  Partnership, community engagement, and intentionality are the fabric to Bowling’s success with Jessup. Those partnerships have grown through events such as Top Swing and the Warrior Golf Classic, both of which have seen considerable growth since Bowling took over.

Bowling places a large emphasis on building and fostering relationships and having a presence in the Placer Valley. Annual donations and giving programs have been revamped, and the Warriors have begun team-specific yearly fundraising events, started through Bowling.

Von Vogt is very complimentary of Bowling’s work in external affairs, stating: “In his role of external operations, we've been able to expand everything we do in sponsorships, partnerships, advancement, and fundraising.”

Along with his role leading external affairs, Bowling also serves as the sports administrator for several Jessup teams. One of the sports Bowling previously served as an admin for, baseball, featured the largest turnaround season in collegiate baseball history with their 41-17 record in 2017. Bowling is currently the administrator for men's soccer, women's basketball, golf, and STUNT. He also served as the tournament director for the NAIA Opening Round for baseball in 2018, and again for men's basketball in 2022.

The hiring process for head baseball coach Jake McKinley, who managed Jessup in that 2017 season, was overseen by Bowling. McKinley now serves as the Director of Player Development Initiatives with the Milwaukee Brewers. Bowling plays an integral role in the hiring of coaches and administrators with Jessup Athletics.

Before joining the Jessup team in 2016, Bowling spent a year with Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, where he was responsible for identifying and creating new revenue streams and growing corporate partnerships. With Northern, Bowling ran game operations for the school’s NCAA Division II attendance leading basketball program while also overseeing student-athlete scholarships in donor relations.

Before Bowling’s stint at Northern, he spent two years with current Jessup partner, BSN Sports, Inc. As a Sales Professional with BSN, Bowling was named the Northern California Newcomer of the Year for 2012-13 and grew his territory from nothing to over $600,000.

Before BSN Sports, Bowling worked with CBS Sports, MaxPreps, Inc. Bowling advanced into many high-ranking roles with MaxPreps, including a Field Marketing Manager and Baseball Products Coordinator, where he created the first national partnership with Minor League Baseball’s AAA All-Star Game and the MaxPreps High School Home Run Derby along with the integration of the Game Changer scorekeeping app.

Bowling’s career in collegiate athletics began in 2005 as an Athletics Marketing Representative with Upper Iowa University. With Upper Iowa, Bowling coordinated and managed in-game promotions, sought external marketing for the department, and was an integral piece in forming web streaming capabilities for athletics.

All in total, throughout Bowling’s career, he has worked or volunteered in every aspect of collegiate athletics, with the lone exception being NCAA Division III.

“Simply put, Brandon is one of the rising stars in the business, and his student-athlete first approach is critical to the current and future success of our athletics department," added Von Vogt.

Brandon is an Upper Iowa University graduate, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management-Marketing in 2006. He also holds a Master of Arts in Sport Management-Marketing from the United States Sports Academy, which he finished in 2010.
