Jessup University formally announced Kyle Steele as head coach of both the men's and women's volleyball programs in March of 2024. Steele made the jump to Rocklin after a very successful stint as the head men's volleyball coach at OUAZ in Surprise, Ariz. After one season in Rocklin, Steele holds a record of 34-22 across both programs, having guided the Warriors to the NCCAA National Championship Game in both men's and women's volleyball.

"I'm excited to be a part of Jessup and the culture," said Steele on coming to Jessup. "I'm also excited to be a part of the PacWest and expound on my experience as a volleyball coach in the NCAA."
  • Steele's first season in Rocklin could not have been scripted any better. Taking over both the men's and women's volleyball program, Steele finished with a winning record with both programs as both seasons ended in the NCCAA National Championship Game. Men's Volleyball, which was competing in its first season, won 12 of 13 sets in the NCCAA Tournament to cap off a National Championship. Women's Volleyball finished 11-9 in their first PacWest season before losing to Grace in the NCCAA Championship Game. Four women's volleyball players ended the season as CSC Academic All-Americans.

Steele came to Jessup with 185 wins as a collegiate head coach.

Vice President of Athletics Lance Von Vogt said on the hiring of Steele, "Kyle's purpose, faith, character, family values, experience, and volleyball coaching acumen are second to none. He was the unanimous selection from our committee and administrative team to lead both our women's volleyball program as well as launch our men's volleyball program."

Steele's first season in Rocklin was also be the first for the university's men's volleyball program. On the women's side, the Warriors are coming off back-to-back conference tournament appearances and will soon be competing in year one as an NCAA Division II institution.

The 2024-25 season was be the second time in Steele's career that he took over a brand-new program, as his first season in Surprise was also year one of the men's volleyball program.

On stepping in to lead a brand-new program, Steele added, "There are going to be some very tough challenges ahead. However, I think this will make for an awesome environment for Jessup. I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead, knowing it will be a tough road."
