Montay McDaniel joined Jessup Athletics as an Associate Athletic Trainer in the summer of 2023, with his primary responsibilities being with the Men's Soccer and Baseball programs. Before joining the Warriors, McDaniel spent one year as an Athletic Trainer for American River College in Sacramento.

"I chose Jessup because I wanted to be part of an institution that keeps Christ at the center of all things, both academically and athletically," said McDaniel. "Jessup has given me the opportunity to use the gifts God has given me as an athletic trainer to reflect Jesus to each and every student-athlete and staff member I encounter. During my time at Jessup, I strive to help athletes achieve their goals academically and athletically and ultimately grow closer to Jesus."

McDaniel is a graduate of Sacramento State, where he earned a B. A. in Communication Studies in 2020, concentrating in Behavioral Science. He then added to his education in 2022 with an M. S. in Athletic Training from Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa.

During his first year at Grand View, McDaniel oversaw the care of student-athletes on the Vikings' Football, Baseball, and Wrestling programs. He then added experience to his resume the next year by assisting Cal State East Bay with their Baseball and Men's Soccer teams.

McDaniel currently resides in Rocklin. He attends Midtown Church in Sacramento, where he serves as a young adult and youth ministry leader. In his spare time, McDaniel volunteers in the Sacramento area by positively impacting the lives of youth and young adults through discipleship, intentional Bible studies, and communal worship.
