Women’s Soccer Keeps Streak Rolling

Warriors Take Another Big Win Against OIT

ROCKLIN, Calif. – The Lady Warriors played host to Oregon Tech Friday afternoon, and after 90-minutes the Warriors found themselves on top 6-1 with their perfect record still intact, now 6-0.

The Warriors offensive output started in just the ninth minute when Yvette Perez (Santa Rosa, CA) headed in a fiery cross from Celia Rangel. Seven minutes later the Warriors made it 2-0 as Michelle Kimball found the back of the net on a penalty kick following an Oregon Tech handball.

The first half scoring continued in the 33rd minute, as freshman Dahlia Rodriguez (Pacifica, CA) played a beautiful cross from one side of the box to the other, directly to the foot of Aliah Bocaletti who tapped it past the reach of the goalkeeper.

Oregon Tech finally made it on the board in the 56th minute on a goal by Molly Orr. Eight minutes later the Warriors rebounded to put their lead back to three as Perez scored her second goal of the day. The goal was again assisted by a strong pass from Rangel.

Freshman Cierra Munoz (Las Vegas, NV) added to the scoring total in the 64th minute before Dulce Espinoza (Lodi, CA) sniped a goal from 30 yards out that soared over the keeper in the 74th.

"I think you can really see the bond the girls they have on and off the field," said head Jessup coach Jamie Howard. "They are creative in their play and they are really gelling anticipating each other and how they are going to play which is hard with 22 new girls."

The 2015 campaign continues on September 23 when the Warriors host Simpson University at 1:30 PM. Jessup bested Simpson earlier this season in Redding 6-0.

"The girls are feeling good but they know conference play is going to be extremely tough," Howard concluded. "For a lot of them it's unknown and uncharted waters, I am glad we are finding success early in the season, but we all are working to stay focused knowing what is ahead."
