Men’s Soccer Shuts Out Simpson

Soria Brings Season Goal Count to Six, Third in GSAC for Total Points

REDDING, Calif. – Jessup's men's soccer squad escaped today's rain by traveling to Simpson's pitch in Redding to take on their former CALPAC rival. The Warriors would leave with a clean sheet and a 2-0 victory to bring their season record to 3-4-1.

Junior Just Soria brought his season goal total to six by scoring the Warrior's first goal of the day in the 25' from a gorgeous through ball by sophomore Joseph Cisneros (Citrus Heights, CA). The goal brings Soria to 14 points on the season, good enough to reach the third spot in total number of points in Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) men's soccer.

Soria's teammate, freshman midfielder Conner Entz, gave Jessup an important safety net when he drilled a shot into the net during the 44' to close out the half with a 2-0 Jessup lead. The score would hold for the remainder of the game.

Senior goalkeeper Zach Kammerer spent 90 minutes in goal on the day earning the win and the shutout. The shutout would be the 12th of his career as he defended the Warrior goal in ferocious fashion, recording seven total saves over the course of the match.

The game is the first of a four-game road trip for the Warrior soccer team where they will spend their time in GSAC play. Their next challenge lies in Southern California where they will take on 18th ranked The Master's College. The Warriors will return home to Rocklin on Oct., 15 where they will take on Arizona Christian University at 3 p.m.
