Box Score Santa Cruz, Calif. – Jessup's women's soccer program took on non-conference opponent UC Santa Cruz on the road but struggled to find their usual defensive stronghold allowing four goals in the defeat during the Slug's senior day game.

Jessup jumped out to an early lead as has been their modus operandi this year when Yvette Perez (Santa Rosa, CA) knocked through her ninth goal in as many games during the eighth minute. Perez was assisted on the goal by fellow freshman forward Amber DeAnda (Stockton, CA) who made her return debut after sitting several games due to injury.

The goal; however, would be the last of the good news for Jessup. Just seven minutes later the Warriors gave up the tying goal via penalty kick. The Warriors then allowed the Slugs of Santa Cruz to take the lead going into half as another goal found Jessup's net in the 21'.

Jessup continued creating opportunities for themselves, taking nine shots on goal during the game but was unable to convert. Santa Cruz would gain two more safety goals over the course of the second half giving Jessup their first non-conference loss of the season.

Jessup, now 7-2, faces three upcoming road games starting with The Master's College on Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. The Warriors will return home Oct. 15 to face down GSAC opponent Arizona Christian University at 12:30 pm.
