Warriors Return Home to Defeat Mills College 3-0

ROCKLIN, Calif. - After a weekend on the road, the Jessup volleyball team welcomed Mills College to Warrior Arena for an evening match where they swept the Cyclones, 3-0.

"Solid team effort tonight," said head coach Shasta Millhollin. "We are pleased that our team was able to remain focused after such a long road trip over the weekend."

Offense came out strong for the Warriors recording 13 kills in the first set and four aces. Junior Kassidy Heuvelhorst and sophomore Makenzie Reeder-Esparza led the set with 3 kills each.  The Warriors went on to take the first one, 25-4.

With the momentum continuing in the second set the Warriors continued an offensive dominance led by junior Courtney Lengyel with five kills on the night and freshman Alicia Borges with 7 assists.  Jessup took the second set, leading 2-0.

The Cyclones came out strong in the third set taking their first lead, 4-3 to kick it off.  It was a back-and-forth motion between Mills and Jessup until the Warriors went on a 7-1 lead to gain the advantage, 20-16.

Warriors took the final set over Mills College, 25-17.  Jessup will travel up to the Cyclones home to play this Friday before hosting Menlo College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
