ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Jessup men's soccer team hosted Westmont College for the first of their final two games on home field for the season. What seemed like deja vu, the Westmont Warriors took an early lead mirroring the women's match with a goal in the first couple minutes followed by a trio of goals en route to the 4-0 win over Jessup.
An early goal would set the tone for the visiting Warriors as they took the 1-0 lead in the mere second minute of play followed by another early goal in the 12th minute to go up 2-0.
The final goal of the half by Westmont would beat the halftime buzzer delivered to the back of the net by Jonathan Romero to take the 3-0 advantage in the 44th minute.
Unable to get a shot off in the second half, Westmont would score a final goal in the 78th minute to defeat Jessup 4-0.
Defending the posts for the Warriors was senior
Robert Harmelink in the first half collecting a pair of saves, and junior
Nick Garcia with a solo save in his second-half outing.
With one final home game left, the Warriors will host The Master's on Saturday for senior day. Pre-game ceremonies will begin 15-minutes prior to game time, which is slated for 1:30 pm.
