Engwin, Calif. - The William Jessup Warriors lost a hard fought battle to the Pacific Union Pioneers in a five set contest that came down to the wire. The Pioneers jumped out to a quick two set lead winning 25-20 and 25-17, but the Warriors bounced back in the next two sets nabbing them both, 25-16 and 26-24 to force a decisive fifth set. Unfortunately, the Warriors lost the nail biting game in the fifth set as the Pioneers won 15-13.

Taylor Jacky led the Warriors in kills with 15,
Vendela Williams and Dannielle Schoen also had strong performances each chipping in with 12 kills. With
Jessica Williams out of action tonight,
Alicia Borges stepped in and led the team in assists with 44. Jacky also led her squad in digs with 17 and
Kacey Berger had 15 while Schoen and Borges each had 10.

After a three straight road games and six out of the last seven on the road, the Warriors will return home for a two game home stand, as they host Vanguard this Thursday at 7 PM and have senior night the following evening at 5 PM playing host to Hope International.Â
