ROCKLIN, Calif. - Hosting their first GSAC matchup on home field, the Warriors returned to familiar territory after two weeks on the road welcoming the Arizona Christian Firestorm. Jessup would have to come from behind in the second half as the Firestorm led 2-0 at the break, but came up short with scoring just one, losing 2-1.
It was even-keeled the first half as each team tallied a total five shots, but the Firestorm making a connection in the 26th minute gave them the early advantage in a one-on-one situation with senior goalkeeper
Robert Harmelink.
Looking to even it up before the break, the Warriors sent a pair of looks in Firestorm territory but missed wide, down 1-0 after 45 minutes of play.
Adding their final goal in the 53rd minute, Arizona Christian sent one in from the corner that was deflected by the Warriors, finding the top right corner for the 2-0 lead.
Adolfo Guzman would get the Warriors within one in the 63rd minutes as he made the connection from
Christian Guzman, his 6th goal of the season, Arizona up 2-1.
Adolfo would have the last opportunity for the Warriors in the 87th minute just missing a penalty kick high, hitting the crossbar as the Warriors drop to ACU 2-1.
Using Friday to recharge, the Warriors will return to Jessup Field on Saturday hosting San Diego Christian with a 1:30 pm kickoff.
