ROCKLIN, Calif. - The men's soccer team returned to the pitch for the second time this week, today welcoming San Diego Christian with both teams battling for their first conference win of the season. Jessup got an early start in the first half going up 1-0 and added another four goals through the second half to capture their first win of GSAC and shutout of the season, 5-0 over the Hawks.

Greg Lazaga commented after the game, "The boys took some positive steps forward today. Some brilliant and creative combinations opened up clear chances that we were able to capitalize on."
Kicking things off for the Warriors was incoming freshman
Oscar Munoz who hit the back of the net first in the 24th minute, his fourth of the season and the single goal in the first half of play.
The Warriors were the only team on the board in the first half, outshooting the Hawks 9-0 while the Hawks had four corner kick opportunities. In the second half, the scale would continue to favor the Jessup 14-4, with senior goalkeeper
Robert Harmelink collecting a pair of saves.
Within seconds into the second half
Daniel Cervantes surprised the Hawks dribbling up the middle for a shot on the far left post to go up 2-0, the third goal of the season for the incoming freshman.
Senior
Aaron Roudebush wanted in on the scoring action following up with back-to-back goals. First in the 47th minute in a one-on-one opportunity with the Hawks' keeper and the second goal coming in the 59th minute sent in from the corner by Cervantes.
Closing out the party of goals was freshman
Paul Anderson taking a shot from the center to call it good on the far left post in the 83rd minute to seal the win for the Warriors, 5-0 over San Diego Christian. The Warrior's first GSAC victory of the season and second shutout overall.
Lazaga closed stating, "And of course anytime you walk away with a clean sheet against you, you are happy!"
The Warriors will continue their home quest next week hosting Menlo College on Saturday at 1:30 pm.
