LINCOLN, Calif.—Returning home for their final series of the season, the Warriors welcomed The Master's University Mustangs to McBean Park. A big inning in each game was the deciding factor as the Warriors dropped both contests (16-5, 10-2).
GAME ONE
Master's bats were the deciding factor in the opener of Friday's doubleheader, as the Mustangs totaled 13 hits while launching one home run as well. The homer came in the ninth inning, a three run shot to push the lead to double digits. Jessup had a homer of their own by Justin Chase, which came in the fifth and put the Warriors ahead 5-4.
The big blow of the day was the top of the eighth as the Mustangs pushed across eight runs in the inning. The two sides were tied at 5-5 entering the eighth. Masters started the game up 3-0 in the first, but the Warriors quickly came back to tie the game on RBIs by Joshua Duitsman and Chase.
Tristan Pryblinski started for the Warriors, and he lasted 4.1 innings while allowing four runs (3 earned) on eight hits, striking out six while walking two. Hayden Piner took the loss after 1.2 innings of relief, allowing five runs (4 earned).
GAME TWO
Much like that of the first game Friday, the Mustangs took an early 2-0 lead in the first, but in the second inning Jessup came back to level that score after a wild pitch and an RBI on a double play. The two runs were all the Warriors would get on the day.
The Mustangs pushed across three runs in the third to take the lead for good, followed up with a two run fourth. Three more runs would score in the seventh to set the score at 10-2.
Cameron Morrow started on the mound for Jessup, pitching four innings while allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits, striking out three while walking two. The Warriors used three pitchers in relief.
The season concludes on Saturday when Jessup and The Master's University hit the diamond for a 2:30 p.m. first pitch at McBean Park. Prior to the start of the game will be Senior Day festivities.
